What Residents Are Saying

After double hip replacement I was at first hesitant to go to Syracuse Home because I felt I did not want to be in a long-term care setting. I've never been so wrong. I befriended numerous residents at Syracuse Home and was amazed at how well the rehabilitation therapies team, as well as the entire staff, cared for the residents. I left Syracuse Home with my perception of the Home totally changed. I found the residents of Syracuse Home to be a group of people with so much to give. This is due in large part to the way the staff cultivates the residents and involves them in daily life.

My rehab therapy was a complete success and I've never lived or felt better. It is my pleasure to rave about Syracuse Home whenever I am asked about my stay.

I came to Syracuse Home after a total, left hip replacement. From the moment I arrived everyone was so friendly and warm; it felt like a family. What was most important to me is that I felt safe at Syracuse Home. It is very difficult to be in a situation where you are unable to do hardly anything for yourself. As a career registered nurse, I found Syracuse Home to be very well staffed and all the personnel well trained.

The meals were beautifully presented and the evening care was outstanding with lots of extras provided before I could even ask! I was very impressed with the overall care and during this time when I could not be at home, I felt my rehabilitative stay at Syracuse Home was the best decision I ever made.

As a resident of McHarrie Towne, Syracuse Home Association's independent retirement community, I felt it was a great advantage to be part of the campus setting. I had two hip replacements six months apart, and I can honestly say I enjoyed my stay at Syracuse Home. The food was excellent, the physical therapy staff was encouraging and supportive and the nurses were always pleasant. I highly endorse the short-term rehabilitation program at Syracuse Home.

I was in a severe automobile accident that resulted in a broken neck and ribs, plus my knee and ankle were severely damaged. While I resided at Syracuse Home for short-term rehabilitation I had a collapsed lung and had to go back to the hospital. I couldn't wait to get back to Syracuse Home! The therapy was great, and the staff actually made it fun to go. Everyone was so caring and accommodating. The entire staff could not have made me feel any better. My doctor told me he couldn't believe what a great job the rehabilitation therapies staff did, particularly with my knee, which required replacement of my kneecap. My recovery has been just amazing, and I am forever grateful.

Our goal is for every short-term rehabilitation resident to regain his or her independence and confidence for the welcome return home.
